Thanksgiving morning begins early for some; those who wake to prepare the meal for the day. For such early risers it seems only appropriate to me that the day should start out with a freshly brewed strong pot of coffee. There are simple pleasures in life and a strong coffee start to the day is merely one of them. Once the eyelids are lifted it is time to remember the day is for giving thanks, so have some fun with your morning coffee and celebrate the day.

Baileys Cup of Coffee

1 part Baileys® Irish Cream

1 part Black Coffee

Mix the hot coffee with Bailey’s. It’s a holiday. Add a dollop of whipped cream if that floats your boat. Enjoy! Don’t forget the other Baileys flavors …hint of Mint, Caramel and new hint of Coffee.

My Baileys Coffee

This version slows down the sweet and alcohol content so you can add a hint and keep the flavor going without getting blasted too early in the day.

1-1/4 ounce Baileys (your flavor of choice)

Top off with Black coffee

Place a small amount of hot coffee in the bottom of a heat resistant coffee mug. Add in Baileys. Top off with coffee. Add whipped cream if you desire. Personally I like mine with just the Baileys. It’s just perfect!

1 ounce Van Gogh Dutch Chocolate Vodka

1/2 ounce Butterscotch Schnapps (Try DeKuyper)

1/2 ounce Amaretto

Coffee

Pour vodka, schnapps and amaretto into coffee mug. Fill with coffee, stir and top with whipped cream and a drizzle of butterscotch syrup.

3 teaspoons Nescafe Alta Rica (Nestle UK and Nestle USA)

7 ounces Boiling Water

1 tablespoon Amaretto Liqueur

2 tablespoons Whipped Cream

1 Amaretti Biscuit, crushed

Dissolve the Nescafe Alta Rica in the hot water and add the Amaretto liqueur. Stir gently. Top with the whipped cream and crushed Amaretti biscuit.

Careful with this one early in the day. Too man and it could give you a nudge over the edge before the turkey is out of the oven.

1/3 ounce Crème de Cacao (Try Hiram Walker)

3/4 ounce Kahlua

3/4 ounce Brandy

Freshly Brewed Hot Coffee

Whipped Cream

Mix the liqueurs together in a large mug. Fill the rest of the mug with hot coffee, and float a dollop of whipped cream on top. If you like, grate some nutmeg on top of the whipped cream.

1-1/2 parts DISARONNO Originale Liqueur

1 teaspoon Instant Hot Cocoa Mix

3 parts Fresh Hot Coffee

Stir hot cocoa mix into hot coffee until thoroughly dissolved. Add DISARONNO Originale Liqueur. Top with fresh whipped heavy cream and chocolate shavings.
