Selecting the right coffee table for your living room can fast turn from a simple evening shopping plan to an all out project in almost no time at all! There are many reasons why this will happen. Many people think that as plastic tables are usually cheaper and inferior to wooden ones, their design and quality must be bad by default, nothing can be farther from the truth, actually designs in plastic and metal are hands down the most chic and gorgeous designs.

c. For rooms with a more traditional setting, tables made out of rattan or dark wood offer the most appealing addition. You might also want to check out oriental themed coffee tables as these often end up looking really great in a traditional setting.

d. Finally for a contemporary setting, you really have a lot of choices, you can either get a wooden table made out of teak or cedar. Although glass top coffee tables also look pretty good in this case.

This should help you narrow down your search range to something more manageable. Contrary to popular perception this is actually quite easy and takes a few hours' worth of work.
